Division: This is a fun division "Math Find" that focuses on the skill of dividing a four digit dividend by a one digit divisor (with remainders). It is a one page activity that includes 12 problems.
Basically, it's a skill sheet where students can practice division, and they get the added bonus of a fun number search.
A 'Math Find' is like a word search puzzle, but students are looking for numbers instead of words. They are looking for the answers to the division problems they solved.
How does it work?
On this division 'math find', students solve problems dividing a four digit dividend by a one digit divisor. After they have solved all of the problems, they find and circle the answers in the puzzle. Answers can be found up and down and left to right. They will put a check mark in each box beside the problem once they have found the answer.
Also, it offers a method of self-checking, as students will search for their answers in the puzzle and if they can't find an answer, they most likely solved the problem incorrectly. They would then need to rework the problem to double check their division/subtraction.
How might I use it?
This division activity is perfect for a math center, a practice activity after a skill has been introduced, a review activity for when you have a substitute, a test-prep activity, homework, or you can use it in lots of other situations. Feel free to use it in your classroom however you would like.
