Take advantage of the Minecraft craze! With this engaging board game, students will have so much fun mining for jewels, they won't even realize that they are learning their division facts! Students roll a dice to move around the game board. When they land on a Mine! space, they draw a card and solve the equation on the card. If they are correct, they take a jewel, then discard the card. Watch out for special cards like "Broken pickax, lose a turn" or "Thief! Lose one jewel." The game ends when all the jewels are gone. The player with the most jewels is the winner! This file includes a game board, 32 multiplication fact cards, 8 special action cards, directions, an answer key, and some tips for the teacher. You will want to use something for jewels that grabs student interest. Marbles work well or consider purchasing some fake plastic gems from a craft store!
