PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Common Core asks you not to teach the standard procedure for division in third and fourth grades. Learn to use manipulatives to build models and use many methods to create solutions to long division problems.

This booklet begins with the basics of how the Distributive Property of Multiplication allows the division of larger numbers, e.g., 1457 ÷ 3 by breaking the numbers into smaller units in order to divide and uses an array model to visualize division problems.
The Answer Key is in Patterns in Arithmetic: Division - Booklet 2 Breaking Up Division Teacher Guide.

A constructivist approach in which students learn through hands-on exploration, discovery, inventions, and the creation of models.

The Parent/Teacher Guide has instructions on how to teach the lessons, sample dialogues, games, and the Answer Key. The Student Workbook has worksheets and practice pages. We highly recommended that you order both for a complete package.
