Materials Needed
Flash cards for addition facts from 1/1 through 144/12.
Basic flash cards work just fine.
Crayola marker for each student
Game Board for each player
1. Each student makes a 5 x 5 square somewhere on their game board.
Adult calls out division fact from 1/1 to 144/12. For example, adult calls out the fact for 8/2 and student marks off a 4 within their 5 x 5 square. If adult calls out another fact that equals 4, the student may mark off the other 4 within their 5 x 5 square. If student has more than one of the same number within the same 5 x 5 square, they may only mark one at a time.
3. Player makes an x on the answer on their game board in their 5 x 5 square.
4. If player gets five squares in a row either across, down or diagonally the player calls out BONGO.
5. Player reads off the numbers in their box in the row of their win.
6. If correct, the player wins a pencil, eraser, or piece of candy.
7. Multiple winners are possible.
8. Multiple games can be played on the same game board.
9. This game is excellent practice for basic addition facts. This game is a favorite with my students for Fun Friday. It was also a favorite with the students who came to my Math Club before school M-F
10. Note: There are many duplicates of the same number on each board. Each board has the same numbers in a different order so that several students can have different boards. It is perfectly fine if there are duplicates of the same number in the 5 x 5 square that the student makes as there are several different facts that have the same answer. There still could be the same numbers that are side by side. I tried to catch the majority of them, however, there is a strong possibility that I missed a couple.
