A long division puzzle, using one-digit divisors, and up to 5 digit dividends, with and without remainders. Students solve the division problems, then order the quotients, to discover the name of a biome, and one organism which lives there. They then work on a challenge activity, where they create their own puzzle in a similar format.
I use this in a hands-on math rotation.
