Give daily practice with several division strategies including equal groups, arrays, repeated subtraction, number lines, bar models, skip counting, and using multiplcation in a fun little book!
After establishing expectations and routines, this takes only about 5 minutes for the students to complete during our Math block. Division Fact of the Day gives them repeated practice with the conceptual understanding of division.
Work Pages Include:
1. 5 strategies page: repeated subtraction, equal groups, bar model, array, and number line (one with a number line drawn, one without so students draw their own)
2. 5 strategies page: number line replaced with “word problem” so students can practice writing division word problems.
3. 6 Strategies page: repeated subtraction, equal groups, bar model, array, use multiplication, and skip counting.
** NOTE: The "1" division tables do not have a way to do "repeated subtraction". Some of my students figured this out themselves, but others made the mistake of doing repeated subtraction anyways. For example: 1 divided by 1 = 1 is not "1 - 1 = 0" You may need to address this in class!
