This product is designed to familiarize students with one of the most common needs of decimal estimation: grocery shopping.
This product includes two different sets of grocery lists, differentiated two ways for lower or higher learners.
Students will choose a money card, round their grocery values, and estimate their total bill. Once done, students will use their estimation and their money card to identify whether or not they had enough to purchase their full grocery list. If they do not, they'll be asked about how much more they would have needed. If they did have enough they'll be asked what additional product from their list they could buy and still be under their money card value.
This can be used multiple times as there are multiple combinations to be had. It can be used as independent practice, assessment, or even partner work where they check each other's estimation when finished.
