It is really pretty simple for you and your students to build this bluebird nesting box. Most of the materials can be obtained from a local hardware and lumber yard. All that is needed in the way of tools is a hammer, screwdriver, pliers, 1/4" drill, ruler and a handsaw.
All the measurements needed too are shown in the blueprints. Follow them exactly for the best results in coaxing a bluebird family to move in.
The do-it-yourself bluebird nesting box should not take more than a couple of hours to build. And this can be broken down into a couple of sessions if needed.
Students love these hands-on activities and will remember them for years to come.
