This Essay Writing topic works great with the "Legend of Sleepy Hollow," with another ghost story, or as a stand alone essay for Halloween. Students have a choice of expository or narrative response to the prompt: "Do you believe in ghosts."
This activity includes infinitely re-usable resources for both demand/ timed writing as well as the writing process (same as found in my Themed Essay Writing Bundles
). Students can walk through the steps of the process, including a peer review checklist that forces students to identify good and bad (rather than just writing "it's all good" as some of mine liked to do.)
