A fun way to explore metric measurement in science!! Each student will make metric measurements and fill in their own metric identity card. They will then use their measurements to calculate two ratios and look at the relationship between height and arm span and the relationship between hand span and elbow/pinkie.
Students should be provided with a bin of materials for collecting data: metric rulers, metersticks, tape measures and calculators.
As a finishing touch, students will add a picture of themselves- can be provided by the teacher, students can bring it in or they can draw it.
After all cards have been collected, they can be displayed in the classroom. Students get excited to see their work hanging up.
