A key skill in history is the interpretation of sources. This document contains propaganda and cartoons that examine the reactions of the German people to the Treat of Versailles following World War I. Students examine eight sources, trying to identify the point of view being presented and gain an overall understanding of how the Treaty of Versailles affected Germany during the Inter-War Years. After examining each source, students are asked to combine their observations into a coherent, written response.
This activity supports learning about the Treaty of Versailles, the factors that contributed to the rise of Hitler, and developing analytical and critical thinking skills.
