This assignment applies rhetorical analysis to a documentary film. I use it in AP Language & Composition, but it could also be useful for film study. It's a group powerpoint project, though students are primarily graded for only their own individual work. Each student takes an aspect of film: visual content, audio content, editing, and cinematography. Each student is required to present six examples to support their rhetorical analysis of the filmmakers' strategies. I designed this assignment in response to the AP's call for analyzing visual text.
