This is fun active tag game that could be used in a variety of different ways. It can be used as an instant activity to get you class moving and stretching with different types of fitness skills, use it as an end of the class game to get students in line and ready to go back to class, use it just as a fun game to just break up class time. Dodge the hoop can also be linked to a handful of physical education standards. All you need is a group of students and a few hula hoops!
There are two variations to this game.
- Variation one objective: To eliminate all players from the game by tagging them with the hula hoop.
- Variation two objective: To have students participate in a continuos tag game while working on different fitness skills
As the teacher you can control the pace of the game by added or subtracting the number of hula hoop being used. The more hula hoops the faster the past of the game will be. Have fun with it and enjoy!
