Do you want students to work in groups so that they learn to work together but can't stand the fact that they may be just copying work off each other? This activity can help!!!
This is one of my favorite small group activities!!! Students will practice finding triangle types (Acute, Obtuse, Right, or not even a triangle) by using the Converse of the Pythagorean Theorem. They will work cooperatively as they are divided into groups of two or three. Students are assigned a column of problems to work on. Even though the problems that each student is working is completely different, the answers are the same. It allows students to compare answers and not just copy down work from their group. There are 10 different problems for each student to work as well as a recording sheet where they must show their work and record their answers.
