This craft is a fun way to review color words after reading the story "Dog's Colorful Day".
Each student will need a dog and a strip of spots. Students color the spots according to the color words. Next, the student matches the spot to the corresponding picture on the dog.
Example: After coloring and cutting out the spots, the student would paste the color word red onto the jam.
This activity is great for the beginning of the year when students need color word and cutting practice. Students also benefit from retelling the story as they match color words to the corresponding pictures.
Once completed, the dogs look great on Bulletin Boards/Classroom Doors.
