In this pack you will find printables to support teaching the first 40 pre-primer Dolch sight words.
How the packet is organized:
The complete alphabetized list of the 40 pre-primer sight words is provided on a page.
Two trifold sight word sticker books are provided. Each book consists of 20 sight words each and the sight words are in the order they are presented in the packet. Books are to be folded on solid vertical lines. As a child masters reading a sight word they can place a sticker next to the word.
Certificates follow each trifold sticker book. Once a child masters the first 20, they may be given a certificate that states their mastery. Once a child masters the second set of 20 sight words, they may be given a certificate that states they have mastered all 40 pre-primer sight words.
The sight words are in groups of four.
The first two pages in each group of four are sight word flashcards (one for tracing and one for sight word wall). I suggest sending the four flashcards home each week.
After the flashcards, there are two pages of printable sight word charms (I suggest printing these on cardstock or construction paper). The charms are to be cut out and all four attached to a yarn or string necklace to be worn throughout the week for continuous reading practice.
The last four pages in each group of four sight words are practice pages for coloring, tracing, circling, writing, cutting, and pasting the sight words.
Monday: Make necklaces in class and send home traceable flashcards for practicing the words at home.
Tuesday - Friday: Have students complete one printable practice page a day and read sight words on their sight word necklace until each sight word has been read correctly ten times each.
