This product’s intended use is for additional, repetitive practice on the 40 Dolch Pre-Primer sight word list. The list is broken into 8 sections, 5 words per section. I have grouped the pre-primer list to go over simple, high frequency words first, and then move into decodable words, and finally the more complex words. Ideally this is a natural progression in difficulty as the students work through the list. As the students are gaining skills through their regular writing curriculum, they will naturally apply these to the sight words they are learning. Each section comes with a pre and post assessment sheet. Every word has a worksheet that focuses on one word in sentence context. Discrimination training is used to slowly fade the visual prompt of the word spelled until the student is spelling the word independently. “Sandwiched” in-between each sentence worksheet is a “Copy, Cover, Compare” (CCC) worksheet reviewing the five words that the student is working on for that section. Individual and class data sheets are also included. This packet is very repetitive but I have found the practices to be effective and that’s what I need for my kiddos. I hope you find this resource helpful!
