Dolch sight word cards with pictures: fourth grade list. Children with language delays, learning English as a second language, and children with limited vocabularies often benefit from learning sight words using a meaning-based approach. Often, sight word cards without pictures are not helpful to students with limited vocabularies. These picture cards contain all of the words from the Dolch fourth grade list. Each card contains the sight word at the top and a meaningful sentence using the sight word at the bottom. The Dolch word and sentence are illustrated for the child in a child-friendly picture that provides the context that children with language delays or differences need to develop their vocabulary and learn their sight words. This packet utilizes a meaning-based approach to teaching sight words. It can be used with children learning the Dolch sight words for fourth grade. Children with language delays or differences, from lower socioeconomic backgrounds and those from homes with limited language interactions or reading, will benefit from this product. If you have been teaching a code-based strategies approach to your students to help them read sight words and you are not having success, try this packet! General and special education teachers will find it useful as well as Speech Pathologists who believe in pulling academic content into their therapy or are looking for common core-aligned materials to use to work on formulating sentences with their students.
