I created this for my first grade friends to practice not only the reading of sight words, but also writing those sight words, practicing sentence structure and handwriting practice.
Print these back to back and laminate.
Students will take note that on the back of the cards there are pictures. These pictures are to keep each of the words for the sentence separate. They will need to separate the 7 pictures to come up with 7 different sight word sentences to sort, and place in a pocket chart, or at a table. They will decide which order they go in. If you have struggling students, let them know that the capital letter is the first word, and the punctuation mark is the end. I have also included the number 3 on the back of each set of sentences to allow the child to know what the third word in the sentence is. This will then allow them to know 3/5 or 3/6 making word order a bit easier for those that need it.
Students then find the underlined word (sight word) and write it on the line on their fix it sheet. Then, in the second space, they rewrite the sentence.
Each set will contain 7 sentences. The full first grade pack will be over 100 pages, and will contain 7 sets of 7 sentences for first grade. I will also create the pre-primer, and primer – this three level pack will be 300 pages! *see the following page for the list of words that will be included in the full pack. This is just set 1.
