I am always looking for new ways to incorporate sight word activities into my classroom or when I work with small groups. I created these this summer to add to my small group work. I plan on using them one of two ways. These could be used for any age group as review and not just used for Pre-K or Kindergartners.
A. Mystery words with Pre-Primer sight words to decode-students look at picture and identify the beginning letter and write it down in the space below. If laminated they can be written on and used over and over again .
B. Handouts to copy and print out for larger groups with pencils with pictures on them.
1. Print on cardstock/Cut out /laminate each pencil and place a ring on each set and have two students work at a station together for their Sight word work.
2. Have a center set up with these sight word pencils placed in groups labeled (pre-primer, primer, etc) and have students record what card they pick up and decode using the mystery pictures.
3. Use the handouts included to give each student as review work.
