This set contains 2 sets of 32 cards each: A Synonyms Set and An Antonyms Set. Words all relate to the fall season and/or Halloween.
Students use the cards to play a matching game by themselves as a literacy center. Or, students can work with a partner, turn a set upside-down, then play a “Memory” game to find a match!
I also use these cards as “Partnership Slips” - a way to pair up partnerships in class! You can pass out the slips as students enter the classroom, or put them on their desks. Then, students find their partner based on the match for their card.
Each set has a different color background to help you keep them organized.
They can be used at a variety of times throughout the day, whether it’s partnering up for a quick sharing activity, or a longer assignment. It is a great way to integrate a little academic content and build classroom community as kids can work with new partners all the time!
