Using dominos to teach common core standards!
I love using dominos in math because there are so many ways to use them. I use domino mats often to teach everything from basic number concepts to addition and decomposing numbers. This packet is designed to use dominos in addressing common core standards for Counting/Cardinality and Operations/Algebraic thinking.
Included in this packet are the following activities:
*Domino mat- simply copy and laminate! I use with counters in whole group and small group math lessons
*More less and equal- 2 pages to color the domino that shows more less or equal amounts on the domino.
*Copy my domino- 2 pages I use early on in the school year to teach that amounts are consistent regardless of arrangement.
*Show another way to make- 2 pages for beginning decomposing using dominos. Look at the arrangement of one domino and create the same amount in a different arrangement.
*Color the ways to make- 2 pages where different ways to make the same number are colored in.
*Show addition sentences- 2 pages using dominos for addition.
*Making 10. 2 pages for finding ways to make ten using addition and dominos.
*Ways to make numbers 4-9. 5 pages showing multiple ways to make the numbers 4-9. More decomposing ideas!
As always, thank you so much for checking out my work! Please take a look at my TPT store and remember that when you provide feedback, you receive TPT credits that can be used for purchases! Thanks again!
