Students “park” dominos with two numbers that add up to the number at the top of the parking space. They will notice that some numbers can be represented different ways. Then they can use the recording sheet to record the number and combinations of dots and numbers. Use your own domino manipulatives or print the included dominos for students to cut out.
Materials are enough for a whole class activity or math center.
CCSS.Math.Content.K.OA.A.3 Decompose numbers less than or equal to 10 into pairs in more than one way, e.g., by using objects or drawings, and record each decomposition by a drawing or equation (e.g., 5 = 2 + 3 and 5 = 4 + 1).
