Two sets of tiles which can be used for subitizing (visual recognition of numbers in a set without counting).
These tiles can also be used for simple addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
Pairs of students can also play a "snap" game with the tiles. The cards are shared out evenly, and students take turns to throw a card into the centre, aiming for a match. the first person to slap their hand down over the matching pair wins that pair.
To prepare the cards, print the set on paper and then glue on to backing card before cutting out the domino shapes. Alternatively, print the cards directly on to heavy paper before cut the shapes out. Cards may also be laminated after printing to make a more durable and waterproof card set.
The cards may also be used as worksheets, and students mark or circle the spots with a felt pen during math operations.
A good resource for students who respond to visual and manipulative supports.
