As a side project, I have developed a series of toddler Spanish classes using a character named "Pablo." I wrote, performed, and recorded several songs for this enterprise, and created accompanying multimedia. This is one of the songs off that "album."
The Spanish-only song features the singer asking where his family is, and then going from room to room to state which relative he sees. The names in Spanish for the various relatives are chanted before and after the song, too. Both my toddler students and later, my sixth graders, found it quite catchy!
The Spanish that is featured includes:
Mamá, Papá, Abuelo, Abuelo, hermano, hermana, Tío, and Tía
El comedor, la sala, el baño, el sofá, las escaleras, el estudio, and la mesa.
Other important "datos:"
1. This song supports a coloring book/colored slide show/activity series called "¿Dónde está mi familia?"
2. If you are interested in those materials, you can buy a copy of them that has this song embedded in it with a music video that I produced using animation tools.
