Don’t Bump Cupid!
A Number Comparison Game
Greater Than, Less Than, or Equal To
This is a number comparison game. Each child will pick a different color unifix cube or stacker to use to cover the numbers on the game board. Children will take turns drawing a valentine card (more than, less than, equal to) and a cupid card (numbers). If a child draws a more than card and a 7, he/she will cover any number on the board that is more than 7 and not secured with 2 stacked unifix cubes or stackers. He/ she can bump off any cube on a number more than 7 if it is not secured. If a child draws a less than card and a 6, he/she will cover any number on the board that is less than 6 and not secured with 2 stacked unifix cubes or stackers. He/ she can bump off any cube on a number less than 6 if it is not secured. If a child draws an equal to card and a 4, he/she will cover a 4 on the board that is not secured with 2 stacked unifix cubes or stackers. He/ she can bump off any cube on the number 4 heart that is not secured. A child can secure a heart by placing a unifix cube on a number that they have previously placed a cube. If a number is not open on the board that a child needs, he/she loses a turn. If a child draws a card with an arrow through it, he/she loses a turn. If a child draws a heart with a key, he/she takes 2 more cards. The child with the most cubes on the board after all the hearts are covered, or time is up, is the winner.
This game can also be played with just the heart cards that use the signs for equal, less than, and equal.
(5 < _). The child will read the card and cover a number that would go in the blank.

Copy on cardstock 1 game board and 3 - 4 copies of the cards.
