Don't Eat Santa
This is a favorite game of my students. It can be adapted by creating your own playing boards for any season or holiday. It works best to play in a group of 4-5 children at a time. I usually set a timer to play this game for about 8-10 minutes before rotating to another activity.
Game board--laminated 6 oz paper cups (1 per child) bag of small candies or crackers such as M&M's, Skittles, Oyster Crackers
Antiseptic hand wash

Game leader washes hands before placing a candy/ cracker on each picture on the game board. One child is "it" and turns around so that he/she cannot see the game board. Another child points to one of the pictures while "it" is not looking. When all the children know which picture was selected, "it" turns around and begins taking markers (candies) from the game board. "It" may continue until he/she reaches for the marker on the selected picture. The rest of the group at that point yells out "Don't eat Santa!" "It's" turn is over and the player to the left then becomes "it". Play continues until the timer rings.
