Product Description
Differentiated Reading Practice
Are you looking for a game to engage every student, and that can be differentiated for all your students? This game is LOW PREP! All you have to do is print the game boards, laminate them for durability, and have a few small treats/food to use.

The students begin in groups of 3-6. The students cover each space on the board with the food/treat. One student steps away from the group where he or she will not hear what the rest of the group is talking about. The rest of the group decides which spot will be "it." Once this has been chosen, the student is retrieved and begins taking the treats/food off one space at a time. While doing this, the student must read the word from the space where the food was taken off. If he/she cannot read the word, this student may not keep the treat from this space. This continues until the student chooses the space that is "it." The rest of the group says, 'Don't Eat the Short a Word." The student's turn is then ended and he/she only keeps the food that was collected before this was said. This continues until each player has had a turn.

There are 20 different game boards included. The first five boards have only CVC words with short a. The next ten boards have short a words with 2-5 letters. The last five boards are meant to challenge your students. These words have 5-7 short a words.
