Doodle notes are all the rage for any subject. There are lots of doodle notes available for specific subjects and topics, but these are blank templates that can be incorporated into any subject and used with any topic. They have a fun doodle theme, which is so much more motivating than a piece of notebook paper or plain white copy paper.

In addition, each doodle note template has a fun saying, quote, or a positive word. This can be a fun discussion starter.

A few of the quotes or sayings are: Be brave, be happy / Be the change you wish to see in the world / Life is what happens when you are busy making plans / You are stronger than you think, etc. NOTE: These quotes are really more suitable for big kids. Most likely, 5th and up. :-)

According to an article in the Wall Street Journal, "Doodling can help people stay focused, grasp new concepts and retain information. Allowing a doodling space can serve as an extended playing field for the brain, allowing people to revise and improve on creative thoughts and ideas." There is lots of brain research showing the benefits of doodling. Simply Google it to read more.

Below I will list lots of ways you can use these with students, but an added bonus is YOU might want to use these yourself. That's right! Make copies and grab one to take to your staff meetings, grade level meetings, and staff development. You can doodle while you listen, BUT you can also take notes. Perfect!! << I always find I leave meetings with doodles on my paper!!>> :-)

These note pages have a blank space that can be used for writing and doodling. There is also a specific doodling space, but students shouldn't be limited to only doodle in that space. It's up to you though as to how you want your students to use them.
