Doors to Discovery: Tank Time
Tank Time coincides with the yearlong theme “Doors to Discovery” (can be found in our teacher store), based upon the popular animated movie where monsters go behind doors to collect screams and laughter. Your students will go behind exciting, new doors and collect knowledge of all they have learned.
TANK TIME can done daily at the end of the day, weekly or at the end of each unit studied. It is a great review at the end of the day especially at the beginning of the school year. It can also be used as a “L” in a KWL lesson for a unit of study. Use it however, you feel useful in your classroom. Simply write the date on the tank, starting at the bottom of the page start writing the students response to all they have learned, that day or about a certain subject. As the page fills from bottom to top, you have filled one whole tank to power your classroom.
After modeling for several days, this could become a student job, with pictures included.
Included in the packet are several covers for a binder or classroom book. There are also black and whites printable for inserts to these books. For those with interactive whiteboards, a colored page is also included to write directly onto on the board.
