Product Description
Dot cards (or any quick image cards) are essential in building number sense in children ages 3 and older. They help children to think flexibly about numbers, and understand the quantity of a number. Quick image cards are also essential in helping children become fluent with addition facts. Gone are the days where flashcards with numerals are the rage. Using the dots instead of numerals help children become fluent with basic facts because they see the images in parts (or sometimes the whole depending on the quantity). If students are familiar with the arrangements – ie five and five (as seen on a dot cube), they will be very quick to know there are ten dots on that card. In this set, you will find quick image dot cards that will build number sense and fact fluency within 5.
Some of the arrangements are which the children will know automatically, and others are a little more challenging – but that is not a bad thing! Most kids love the challenge and are excited to figure it out!
