This product is designed to help improve math fluency, number sense, and mathematical communication in young learners, kindergarten age through 3rd grade.
This game pack includes 60 game cards for numbers one through ten. There are six sets of cards (digit cards, number word cards, dice dot cards, ten-frame cards, and two sets of assorted size/color dot cards). These cards are designed to be mixed up and used for different number sense math games in small groups and in centers.
The digit and word form cards help students form basic number sense, and combine with the dot cards to challenge students to subitize and apply conceptual and perceptual math skills. With conceptual subitizing, students look to quickly recognize small groups of numbers and combine those numbers to arrive at a total. With perceptual subitizing, students instantly recognize numbers on a card by noticing a pattern (such as with dots on dice).
The cards will needed to be printed in color, and I recommend laminating for durability. Directions are included for 5 different games that can be played with this game pack, and ideas for scaffolding and challenging students with differentiated game options.
Print as many sets as you like to keep your students engaged throughout the year in small group lessons and in learning stations!
