I created this assignment for my math class during our data and graphing unit. There are 3 sets of worksheets included. Each set comes with a tally chart for collecting data on the types of pets others in the class have, a page of analysis questions and a double bar graph to graph the data documented on the data sheet. There is one set for the students to interview both peers and staff, one if you want to have them graph the date by boys and girls and the last is if you split the class into 2 groups and graph the data that way. For this activity you can have your students use clip boards and move about the room interviewing fellow students (and staff members) to track the types of pets everyone has at home. After collecting the data students can go back to their desks, answer the questions and complete the graph using the data collected. This can be done individually or in partners/groups. I hope your class enjoys this type of interactive activity as much as mine does!
