Do your kids need some extra practice with double digit addition? Are they tired of worksheets? Then Brain Break Scoot is just what you need!
Scoot! is a fun activity where students will travel from station to station or desk to desk to solve problems. It is a great activity to get students up and moving, while still practicing on academic skills.
This set is EXTRA special because it includes some brain breaks!
Give each student a recording sheet. Students will start at their own desks (or an assigned spot) and answer the problem on their task card, writing the answer in the corresponding box on the record sheet. When students are finished, the teacher will say, “Scoot!” and students will move onto the next desk or station. They will continue to answer problems and move about the room until they get back to their own starting point.
There are 30 cards in the set. 23 are math problems and 7 are brain breaks. You can always remove cards to make the game shorter. Sometimes I like to let the kids work with partners as well.
The brain break cards will vary depending on the set. In this set, the breaks allow the kids to draw pictures of bugs.
