Subtraction, Double-Digit: This resource is designed to provide a fun way for students to practice subtracting double-digit numbers using game boards to play “Connect Four.” Students solve subtraction problems presented on their cards. If the answer is on their Connect Four game board, they cover it with a chip. Play continues until the first player “connects four” on his or her game board. Included are 3 different worksheets that focus on the skills of double-digit subtraction that can be used as a wrap up after the game. The game can be used during math centers for 1-6 players. It can also be used by a general education or special education teacher with a group of students who may be struggling with double-digit subtraction and number sense but are motivated by learning games. Great for special education students who have IEP goals in the area of math calculation and number sense.
Intended for grades 1, 2, 3.
