Here is a simple matching activity, which will test your students' existing knowledge of doubles. Some different ways that you can use this activity are...
- Print and cut out the following singles and doubles cards. Mix them up.
You can use these as a matching activity, where students need to match the ‘single card’ with the corresponding ‘double card’.
- They could also be used as a ‘memory game’ or ‘lotto game’, where students put all the cards face down. They then turn over two cards at a time, trying to match a single with its double, whilst also remembering where the cards are placed.
- Or use them as flash cards with the prompts – What is the double of this number? What is half of this number? What number do you double to get this number?
