What is a Double Entry Journaling?

Double-Entry Journaling is a during-reading strategy that gives students a way to record their responses to text as they read. Using the suggested (and included) sentence frames, students write down evidence from their assigned reading(s) and then write their own reaction to that passage. The purpose of this strategy is to give students the opportunity to "talk" to and interact with the text.
