•Practicing the count sequence zero through twenty using precise vocabulary
•Developing understanding of the relationships between numbers (numerals) and quantity 0 – 1 0 and 1 1 – 20
• Building understanding of the teen numbers
•Compose and decompose numbers from 1 1 to 19 into ten ones and some further ones
• The numbers from 1 1 to 19 are composed of a ten and one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, or nine ones
•Developing correct mathematical vocabulary
•Preparing for counting higher number sequences in this grade and beyond
