Materials:

2-4 players

Directions:
Play this similar to the traditional game of GO FISH.

One player passes out 5 cards to each player. The students look through their 5 cards to see if they have any doubles matches. Students are looking for a number model and the correct sum to have a match. If they have a match, they place those cards in front of them face up.

The players then decide who will go first and players will take turns around the table. On the first players turn, they will ask an opponent for a card they need. For example, “Sara, I have 6+6, do you have a 12?”…..or….“Sara, I have a 12, do you have a 6+6?” If the opponent does not have the card they are “fishing” for, they say “Go Fish!” and the player who made the request draws a card from the pond in the middle and places it in his/her hand. Play then continues around the table with each player getting one turn at a time.

As players collect matches, they continue placing them in front of them. At the end of your time frame, players can count their matches. The player with the most matches is the winner that day!
