Tired of the previously circulating songs and raps about doubles, I made this one up to be quick and catchy! My students love saying it! In fact, every time I say the word 'double', they break out into this chant. It became funny when I was was teaching adding -ed and -ing onto cvc verbs. As I was talking about 'doubling' the consonant before adding on the endings, the kids broke out into the chant, changing the word 'number' to 'letter.' Haha! First graders are awesome!
