Product Description
For young students to build fact fluency, it is crucial that they learn to compose answers from known facts. Doubles(3+3=6) are often some of the first facts memorized, so they provide a great springboard for teaching the skill of working from known facts. The four activities in this mini-unit move from hands-on manipulatives to more abstract thinking in a way that scaffolds young learners. This mini-unit will help first and second graders begin to work flexibly with equations.
