Product Description
A PowerPoint based lesson that looks at the concept of doublethink in the George Orwell novel "1984" through the various clocks and timepieces described in the text. Ideally the class will have read about two thirds of the novel at the point of following this 50 minute lesson.

Included in the presentation is a Think Pair Share warm-up, a brief small groups activity, questions for whole group discussion and a closing written reflection. At the end of this lesson, students will have practiced searching for specific information within a longer text, and have a more solid understanding of analogies and how they can work in visual as well as verbal contexts.
