The Doubling Rule can be challenging to students unless provided with multisensory, explicit multisensory instruction. This lesson includes a multisensory introductory lesson, basic word list, reading fluency development practice, and a word search which is an optional activity.
Please be careful in requiring students to complete the word search if they experience difficulty with visual processing, and working memory challenges. Either students love or hate word searches. But if they love to complete word searches, spelling will develop along with memory and processing skills.
