Bundle Description

This product consists of 4 activities that reinforce doubling the final consonant L phonics skill. It is appropriate for first grade.

Activity One is a scoot game. Each mat consists of 6 images that all contain the double final L. Students write the word with dri-erase markers. Shape boxes are used for support.

Activity Two is a literacy center that requires kids to sort the words: -all, -ell, -ill, -oll and -ull patterns.

Activity Three is a whole group "Who's My Partner?" card game. Kids leave their seats to find their partner with the matching strip of words/images. My own students LOVE this activity and I believe yours will, too!

Activity Four is a "Write the Room" literacy center. Kids walk the room and record the words they find.

All recording sheets are provided.

These games work well with Lesson 25 in the First Grade Reading Horizons program, too!

Enjoy!
