These mats are perfect for groups with mixed goals! Language target skills have two levels, one with visual support and one without visuals.
Emotions- Identify the emotion- for a challenge, have the student identify a situation that might result in the emotion.
Describing- Describe each item by identifying the category, function and one additional attribute.
Categories- Name an appropriate category for the items in each circle or identify at least 3 items in the category.
Pronouns- Say a complete sentence about the action in each circle using the appropriate pronoun (level 1); Read the sentence in each circle and change the name(s) to the appropriate pronoun (level 2)
Antonyms- Identify an opposite word for the target word in each circle (level 1- with pictures; level 2- without pictures)
Synonyms- Identify a synonym word for the target word in each circle (level 1- with pictures; level 2- without pictures)
Compare/Contrast- Provide at least one similarity and one difference between the items in each circle (level 1- with pictures; level 2- without pictures)
Object Function- Identify the function of the item in each circle (level 1- with pictures; level 2- without pictures)
Irregular Past Tense Verbs- Identify the past tense form of each verb in the circle (level 1- with pictures; level 2- without pictures)
WH- Questions (What, Where, Who)- Read each question and determine which picture or word answers the question (level 1- with pictures; level 2- without pictures)
Articulation Mats: Target sounds- /b, p, m, f, v, s, k, g, l, j, ch, sh, th, r-blends, l-blends, s-blends)
Instruct students to say each word 5 times before smashing the Play-doh.
Students can create phrases or sentences with the words for an added challenge.
