Teach your students all about rhyming with this fun, interactive literacy lesson. Down By The Bay by Tweet Resources is a fun, interactive song with activities that will have your students singing and laughing.... all while learning to rhyme!
Down By The Bay is a fantastic song for the classroom because it’s an echo song which helps student develop their pitch and it focuses on rhyming, a skill which can be tricky for students to learn. Tweet Resources has created a fun powerpoint visual, with clickable moving rhyme cards and 3 song versions for your selection. The songs included are interactive, allowing your students opportunities to echo the singer, and to create and perform their own rhymes.
Activities have been included to supplement the song Down By The Bay, including templates for you to create a class song book with student composed rhymes. Rhyming review sheets will extend learning beyond the song and consolidate this concept.
Tweet Resources has also left a fun little interactive surprise at the end of the song that I’m sure your amuse all your students! The song and recording was all performed at home by me (pictured in my logo) so please forgive me that I'm not the best singer (or rapper!) but I love what I do and love to share it with whomever will listen:)
PLEASE NOTE-IN ORDER TO PLAY THE SONG AND THE PRESENTATION SIMULTANEOUSLY YOU NEED TO PUT YOUR POWERPOINT IN PLAY MODE:
