For this assignment, students are inserting a chapter of their own composition into the story The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Students will narrate through Hyde's perspective, and relate some of his misadventures that have taken place outside of the novel's plot. My students love the opportunity to "tell" Hyde's story and linked their narration to research about the Victorian Period that we discussed in class. The result was authentic, creative compositions.
Included in this document: the peer rubric, the directions for the instructor to facilitate the assignment, and the student's copy of the directions.
