Hooray for Dr. Seuss! Kids of all ages - even adults - love his books. These centers are a great way to celebrate Read Across America day. Or, they could be used as centers any other time of the year!
****It has been brought to my attention that some of the QR codes in the original centers are connected to now broken links. Please go to the following link to download a FREE replacement page for the QR code center: https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Dr-Seuss-Center-Freebie-2408519*****
This product includes 4 centers:
*Seussical Words: Students are asked to create a new, silly word just like Dr. Seuss did in his books. They will create a word, write a paragraph to describe their new word, and draw a picture to match. Examples of real "Seuss" words are given in the direcitons.
*Seussical Writing: Students choose from a list of 5 prompts. Each prompt is related to a famous Seuss book. Paper for student response is provided.
*Seussical Characters: This center asks students to read The Cat in the Hat and then complete a character study sort.
*Seussical Reading: This center uses QR codes to direct students to online read alouds of three Dr. Suess books. Students are asked to choose their favorite book. Once they have listened to the story, they will complete a roll and retell with a buddy.
Each center has all you need to make a complete folder center: A cover sheet, directions, and student response papers.
BONUS: Also provided in this product are "done early" ideas for each center. I like to glue these to the back of the folders so that if students finish early they automatically have an extension activity to start.
I hope you enjoy these centers as much as my 4th graders have!
