This activity is great for brain breaks, celebrating Dr. Seuss' birthday, or for a reading fluency game.
For this activity, I hand out the cards to the students out of order. (Each student will have more than one card) The student with the beginning card (You start!), will stand and read their card aloud for the class to hear. The person with the next card will stand and read until the tongue twisting story is finished. I have put in parenthesis and italized the last phrase or sentence of the card before them. This will let the child know when their card is next. I challenge my students to read these cards through as fast as they can correctly. You could time them and let them compete with other classes.
I hope you enjoy this fun activity!
