Dr. Seuss books are great for teaching all sorts of skills.
I've taken this famous Dr. Seuss picture book and created an 84 page literacy unit that both you and your students will love.
5 pages of vocabulary instruction including an extensive list of words from the story, vocab cards, word wall words, and ideas for vocabulary activities.
14 pages of comprehension activities including higher level thinking cards, before/during/after reading questions, and worksheets to show understanding of the story, comparing/contrasting, and ideas for activating prior knowledge.
34 pages of fluency including 218 fluency phrases and corresponding progress monitoring sheets as well as ideas for ways to use the cards.
6 pages of sequencing activities with an answer key
